As part of Gerda Security’s primary-tested doorsets, we offer a range of threshold solutions for internal and external applications.

Ease of access – Low-profile aluminium threshold options, which can be combined with solutions to accommodate variations in floor level.

Floor level variation – Doorsets are surveyed to account for floor-level differences, which may vary between entranceways within the same building. Threshold solutions are selected accordingly.

External applications – Threshold options are available for externally sited doorsets. Rain deflectors are available for externally sited doorsets.

Drop-down smoke seals – Available for internally sited doorsets. These can be used in carpeted environments and may be relevant for projects with mobility and access considerations, including care homes and sheltered accommodation.

Our doorsets are designed and tested with consideration of applicable building regulations, performance criteria and design requirements to support the living environment for residents.

We design our doorsets to meet applicable building regulations across fire resistance, smoke control and other relevant performance criteria.

External fire doorsets are subject to applicable UKCA marking requirements and may need to demonstrate performance against criteria including fire resistance including fire resistance, smoke control, enhanced security, thermal transmittance, acoustics and weathering, as applicable.

Information on performance is provided in the Declaration of Performance (DoP).

Insulated glass units (IGUs) are tested as part of the complete doorset in full-scale primary fire tests, including relevant frame configurations.

• EW30 IGU – For 30-minute fire doorsets, providing fire integrity and reducing heat radiation.
• EI30 IGU – For 30-minute fire doorsets, providing fire integrity and thermal insulation.
• E60 / EI30 IGUs – For 60-minute fire doorsets, providing fire integrity for 60 minutes and thermal insulation for 30 minutes.

Full-scale primary fire testing has assessed doorset configurations incorporating these IGUs. The tested configurations include security glazing assessed to BS EN 356 and low-emissivity glazing.

Under the Building Safety Act (section 10), safety critical products include those which have a designated standard.  The Office of Product Safety and Standards is the national regulator for construction products.

External fire-rated flat entrance doorsets have the designated standard EN 14351-1:2006 +A2:2016 / EN 16034:2014.

Under the Construction Products Regulation, an external fire doorset must be UKCA marked.

The Declaration of Performance (DoP) is the legal document that enables UKCA marking as a safety critical product.

Supporting documentation for our stated product performance claims is maintained and made available with the applicable requirements of the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI).

We recognise the importance of providing accurate, current and verifiable information to substantiate our product performance claims. As the manufacturer, we are responsible for explaining our products’ intended applications, design characteristics, performance claims and limitations, and ensuring supporting evidence is accurately represented in its proper technical context.

Some technical documentation, including test reports and assessments, may contain commercially sensitive information and proprietary intellectual property. We protect this information from unnecessary disclosure while meeting our CCPI obligations.

Requests for supporting technical information are handled in accordance with applicable CCPI requirements, taking into account the request’s purpose and scope. Where permitted, access may be provided through controlled disclosure, appropriate confidentiality arrangements or review by a suitably qualified independent third party.

Where further information is needed to verify product performance claims, we will work with the requester to identify an appropriate means of providing it while protecting proprietary information to the extent permitted.
