Contemporary Range™ Internal Flat Entrance Doorsets

The Gerda® Contemporary Doorset Range is a steel-insulated flat entrance fire doorset range, developed for residential applications. Performance testing for the range is listed alongside the doorset image below. Doorset design is an important factor in meeting the performance criteria for flats and apartment entrances, ensuring fire safety, security and occupant protection.

At Gerda Security, safety is a key consideration throughout the doorset lifecycle, with designs developed to address building regulations, fire performance standards and the practical needs of residential buildings. Our doorsets are tested at UKAS-accredited test houses, with testing covering a range of styles, configurations and door furniture options.

Our complete doorsets are bespoke and manufactured to project-specific requirements. Transit packaging consists of 95% recyclable cardboard with paper-based tape (see our ESG report on our knowledge page for more information). Full end-of-life guidance is detailed within our product warranty guidelines, available upon request.

Certification

Certification

Our doorsets are designed and tested with consideration of applicable building regulations, performance criteria and design requirements to support the living environment for residents.

We design our doorsets to meet applicable building regulations across fire resistance, smoke control and other relevant performance criteria.

Triple certified for fire resistance, enhanced security and smoke control (certificates TESD-020 & TFDS-011 BlueSky Certification).

We are members of Secured by Design. Further details can be found here: https://www.securedbydesign.com/member-companies/product-category-search/product?id=0011i00000JpvkpAAB&f=0

Security

Security

Feeling safe at home also means feeling secure. The Gerda Contemporary Doorset Range is Secured by Design approved. The range incorporates fire-resistance and security features supported by the relevant testing and certification.

Tested to PAS 24, our doorsets incorporate security features in accordance with the applicable certification requirements. These include TS 008 letterplates and TS 007 cylinders with associated security hardware, where specified, designed to provide resistance to recognised methods of attack against euro profile cylinders.

Please refer to our specification guides on our website for a breakdown of the relevant testing data and performance criteria.

Digital Traceability

Digital Traceability

Under Regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, responsible persons for multi-occupied residential buildings in England that are above 11 metres in height must undertake checks of flat entrance fire doors at least every 12 months. These checks include ensuring that self-closing devices are working.

To support doorset lifecycle management, each of our Contemporary doorsets is fitted with the G-Smart® digital lifecycle management app. Based on a unique doorset code, G-Smart® tracks the doorset’s history from survey and manufacture through to installation, maintenance and fault reporting, as well as supporting the ordering of the correct spare parts.

Design & Sustainability

Design & Sustainability

The contemporary doorset comprises a timber / mineral wool internal leaf encased in a 44mm galvanised steel surround. The construction is designed to support stability and help limit bowing, offering an alternative to door types that rely heavily on fibre and resin.

The insulated steel doorset is designed for high-traffic environments. Its finish helps protect against scratching and is easy to clean.

The exterior foil coating has undergone temperature cycling as part of a thermal test at the British Board of Agrément (BBA). This testing assesses the coating’s response to temperature changes.

Sustainability is a consideration in the design. The stone wool insulation is manufactured from molten rock and can be recycled, subject to the available recycling process and facilities.
